Hey there!
My name is Will, and I’m a flutist, composer, and improviser currently located in the L.A. area. I received my undergraduate degree from The New England Conservatory of Music and am currently studying for my Masters degree at California Institute of the Arts. Thank you for visiting my page, and I’m so excited to get to know you! If you’re looking for music lessons, you’re in the right place! Though I will admit that I am not your average flute teacher.
I have had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of flute teachers throughout my study. From world-class soloist Renée Krimsier to expert in extended techniques, Robert Dick, I have worked hard on my practice as a classical flutist.
Not only have I studied classical music extensively, but I also have an undergraduate degree in Jazz and Improvisation. I have had the pleasure of working with musicians such as Jerry Bergonzi, Jason Moran, Frank Carlberg, Ran Blake, and Joe Morris.
Through this unique experience, I have lots to offer my prospective students. If you want to study flute technique and tone, I can help with that. If you want to learn extended techniques, I can help with that. If you want to learn how to solo like Hubert Laws, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, or any other jazz musician, I can help with that. If you want to reconnect with a flute that you haven’t picked up in a while, I can help with that. Even if you just want a musician to show you how to listen to classical or jazz music without getting lost, I can help with that!
If you’re interested in lessons (zoom or in-person in the LA area), please reach out at:
Or you can DM me on Instagram @musicbwill_
We will set up a free 15 minute consultation over zoom where we can discuss exactly what kind of instruction you’re looking for. There are no requirements to sign up for a lesson, so why not get a consultation!
Happy practicing, and I can’t wait to get started!
